Headteacher’s Welcome
I would like to welcome you all to Copeland Road Primary School.
Pupils, parents, staff, the community and governors work extremely hard together to develop a safe, happy and caring and inclusive environment in which everyone in the school community can be challenged and achieve success. Ofsted (2024) noted that children ‘are proud to be a part of Copeland Road Primary School. They are happy and safe.’
At Copeland Road Primary School, we want all pupils to achieve their full potential, preparing them for life’s challenges and equipping them with the skills and confidence necessary for success. Through high quality teaching, a broad and balanced curriculum, care and support, we aim to establish a happy and safe learning environment. We want our children to have a positive attitude towards lifelong learning.
At Copeland Road Primary School, our school values centre around our ‘Gem Powers’ which help the children to build their resilience, independence and focus. They also help the children understand that no matter what they believe their ability is, they can always improve. We want our children to be able to communicate effectively and to build and sustain positive relationships based on mutual respect, kindness and honesty. We need our children to be ambitious; to be proud of their own and others’ achievements and to set themselves challenging goals. Children also need to be aware of the importance of their own health and wellbeing, both physical and mental, and have the ability to regulate their emotions. We have high expectations for all of our pupils and we aim to provide a positive environment where your children can thrive and feel valued as part of our family.
We look forward to seeing you in school and hope that this will be the beginning of a happy and successful journey for you and your child at Copeland Road Primary School. You can keep updated with school events and news on our website and our ‘Copeland Road Primary’ Facebook page.
